Sky Radio's Christmas Tram returns to Rotterdam
After an eleven year absence, Sky Radio has this year brought their Christmas Tram back to the city of Rotterdam. The eye-catching tram, which features 12,000 LEDs, 140 m2 special stickers and a matching Santa hat, has been making its way around the city spreading festive cheer. Travellers are able to track the tram’s location using Sky Radio’s tracker, and once on board passengers are played Christmas music to get them into the holiday spirit. Passersby meanwhile, have been encouraged to take a photo of the tram and share it on social media using the hashtag #kersttram, for the chance to win a weekend away.
Guy Grimmelt, Marketing & Business Development Director at Exterion Media Netherlands: "It was great fun to partner with the Sky Radio team again on their Christmas campaign, and work with RET to bring a fun, festive campaign to the streets of Rotterdam!"
Dennis Kuzee, Marketing Manager Sky Radio: "It was great to bring the Sky Radio Christmas Tram back to Rotterdam after more than ten years. With thousands of lights, it’s a real eye-catcher on the streets and probably the most photographed tram in the city. Hopefully the city will enjoy seeing our festive campaign! "
Developed in collaboration with Exterion Media, RET and Sky Radio, the Christmas Tram campaign is supported by more than 1,700 posters in bus shelters on the streets and at railway stations throughout the Netherlands.
