Friends and family drop hints this Christmas with Currys PC World's Spare the Act campaign
Encouraging shoppers to ‘spare the act’ this Christmas and avoid those awkward present-related moments, Currys PC World deployed a dynamic Digital Out-of-Home campaign with Exterion Media, which saw customers dropping hints to their loved ones about what they’d really like for Christmas this year.
To participate in the personalised ads, customers simply had to submit an online entry form via the Currys PC World website, along with a specific location of where they’d like their message to appear. Lucky participants would then see their Christmas hints displayed on digital screens at iconic central London Underground stations, including Oxford Circus and Leicester Square.
Some of the hints displayed include ‘Hassan. Christmas is a time for giving. So give James Koch what he really wants’ and ‘Paulette. At Christmas it’s the thought that counts. And Jamillah Stephen wants you to start thinking about this’.
All of these messages were positioned next to an image of the present they’d like for Christmas, giving their friends and families a subtle nudge and commuters some inspiration!
Planned and booked by Blue449 and Posterscope, the campaign ran for four weeks in November, providing the perfect opportunity for the messages to reach friends and family during their routine commute or shopping trip.
