Delighted to announce our Kids' Wrapped Bus competition winner!
We are delighted to announce that Sehba Basra, from Dr Triplett’s Church of England Primary School, Hayes, is the winner of our Kids’ Wrapped Bus competition!
As the tier one sponsor of the ‘Transported by Design’ programme, Exterion Media launched the competition with TfL and London Transport Museum to encourage children across London to celebrate the role of great transport design. The project invited children from years 3-6 across London borough primary schools to create a colourful and creative design for one of Exterion Media’s iconic wrapped buses, using their local area as a source of inspiration.
We were overwhelmed by the number and standard of entries - 538 entries from almost 20 Primary Schools!
Sebha’s creation featured highlights from her local town of Hillingdon, including its multicultural nature and caring community spirit. The judges felt that Sehba’s design was “an outstanding interpretation of the competition theme; a brilliant representation of her local area, using a colourful and creative mix of design tools”! They thought Sehba’s design would look fantastic commissioned in real life, and are all excited to see the final creation driving through the streets of London.
Sebha’s design will be printed and displayed on a real New Routemaster bus at the Transported by Design festival on Regent Street (3rd July), and will be live on the streets of London for four whole weeks. Sehba and her family will also receive a free trip to the London Transport Museum, and will be awarded a £50 voucher for the museum shop.
Keep your eyes peeled for Sehba’s fabulous wrapped bus on London’s streets – or visit the Kids’ Zone at the Transported by Design festival, where the bus will be parked outside Hamleys.
