Rock n Roll Routemaster
The Routemaster bus isn’t the only London icon to celebrate its 60th anniversary this year. The world-famous Fender Stratocaster guitar is also ringing in its 60th year, and to mark the occasion a new special edition “Rock ‘n’ Roll” Fender-branded Routemaster has been unveiled.
In recognition of the role both designs have played in building London’s peerless record for developing famous musicians, the bus will operate the ‘musical heritage’ number 24 route, taking it through Camden (where the Jazz Cafe and Roundhouse can be found) and Oxford Street, home of the legendary 100 club.
With London’s reputation as a centre of creativity in advertising continuing to flourish, special dispensation has been given from TfL to operate the painted Routemaster initiative this year. As a result, major brands are experiencing never-before-seen levels of exposure on London’s iconic buses and turning the heads of busy Londoners across the capital in the process.
