Purpose of the role

To manage the provision/creation of reports to the business which analyse the revenue/occupancy/price performance of Exterion Media inventory, including ad hoc reports and general data analyses.  Provide support to the Head of Commercial Insight.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provision of relevant insight to ensure all areas of the company achieve revenue & profit targets

    • Provision/creation of reports for the business which analyse revenue/occupancy/price/yield

    • Timely and accurate completion of reports, including template set up for coming year

    • Work closely with key stakeholders in the business including Planning, Sales, Franchise and Delivery

    • Gain an understanding of our inventory and rate card

    • Develop working knowledge of team reports, their purpose, data source and how changes in business practices may affect them

    • Annual reports review to confirm/re-establish business needs

    • Develop administration time saving devices (Excel-based)

    • Understand revenue and inventory performance trends paying particular attention to key revenue drivers

    • Detailed understanding of in-house data base to ensure reporting accuracy

    • Keep abreast of company developments and new IT systems to ensure reports are adjusted to incorporate any relevant changes

    • End to end understanding of the sales process team’s role within it

    • Understanding of other department functions and how the team can interact effectively with them to help drive the business forward and increase revenue

    • Input into new IT systems and other relevant IT initiatives

    • Support the Head of Commercial Insight

    • Ensure all regular Commercial Insight reports are completed accurately, on time and with useful sales insight

    • Ensure timely set up of same reports as new trading year approaches to ensure smooth changeover from one year to the next – liaise with IT as necessary

    • Contribute new ideas to enhance reporting performance by the department for the company, including IT liaison as appropriate

    • Respond to ad hoc complex reporting requests from the business in a clear, accurate and timely manner

    • Push back on less complex requests which can be run off the system offering advice where necessary

    • Ensure revenue boards update

    • Work closely with Planning to ensure optimum classification of Exterion Media assets on Route

      • Ability to create and manage large datasets

      • Advance knowledge of Excel, including the use of time saving macros (VBAs) and some knowledge of SQL would be useful although not essential

      • Competent IT with good knowledge of all other MS office applications

      • Knowledge of BI systems an advantage


      • Educated to degree level preferred although not essential

      • Must be numerate and analytical
