Groningen Airport creates a 'London selfie' bus shelter
Millions are shared every day across social media platforms, and they now account for 30 per cent of pictures taken by those aged 18-24*- it can only be the ‘selfie’. Groningen Airport in the Netherlands has taken full advantage of this craze by creating a fun, interactive bus shelter.
For one week in February, two actors in British fancy dress invited passers-by at the bus stop to take a selfie with them, and share their photo on Groningen Airport’s Facebook page to be in with a chance to win two Flybe tickets to London.
We deliberately chose an eye-catching spectacular to supplement our street shelters and station posters. The 'selfie shelter' both informs and excites passers-by about our daily flights to London, and has given us a lot of extra exposure. The shelter shows that you can enhance your outdoor advertising campaign even further with creative, interactive elements.
