Dale Farm celebrates the return of childhood favourite iced lolly, Rocky Rasper, with head-turning lenticular T-Sides in Belfast. Lenticular print technology provides the illusion of depth and makes images appear to change as the advert is viewed from different angles.

The campaign was perfectly planned by Ardmore Advertising to coincide with National Ice Cream Month and announced the return of Rocky Rasper, a staple of most Northern Ireland childhoods back in the 90s and early 00s.

With Lichtenstein comic book inspired creative featuring the eye-grabbing headline “take a lick at who’s back”, half of the campaign was enhanced with specially printed T-Sides featuring the famous Rocky Rasper exploding through the advert with the words “I’m back”, ensuring his return doesn’t go unnoticed.

Commenting on the campaign, Mark Thompson, Media Director at Ardmore Advertising said,

"We are delighted to have our client Dale Farm as the first Northern Ireland brand to feature on this innovative format bringing movement, engagement and of course fun to the NI outdoor market. There is no better media match for the return of Rocky Rasper!"

The campaign also marks the first time a local brand has used lenticular printing on buses in Northern Ireland, which remains the only market outside of London to incorporate it into bus advertising.

Exterion Media Account Manager, Rebecca Rodgers said,

“We’re excited about the fact that Dale Farm has become the first local brand to use this innovative technology as part of their recent campaign for their Ice Cream range”

“Bus is the ideal medium to showcase the jaw-dropping effects of lenticular technology and of course mark the return of a Northern Irish favourite.  Our natural instinct is to be alert to movement and this is supported by our own work.shop.play. research panel, 70% of whom said they notice bus advertising because the bus is moving and it catches their attention”.

The campaign was planned and bought by Ardmore Advertising and Kinetic Belfast.
