Regional Marketing and Business Development Executive

Purpose of the role

  • The Regional and Business Development Executive is responsible for the delivery of elements of the overall marketing plan and providing the sales team with research and insight that help to drive selling opportunities

  • A large focus for this role is on supplying CRM-focused marketing support aligned with the marketing plan and ad hoc support as required

  • Taking a proactive stance on researching and sharing marketing news, opportunities and activity, and building into plans where relevant

Measure of Success

  • Successful delivery of the agreed elements of the marketing plan – from planning through to campaign measurement
  • Increasing number of new leads and reduce churn of existing ones through our marketing activity, including our CRM platform


  • Wider marketing team - Regional, National, Brand Communications, Insights and Design

  • Sales (National and Local), Franchise and other business teams as required

  • Clients, partners & relevant external stakeholders

Duties & Relationships

  • Working with the Regional Marketing and Business Development Manager, and wider team, to develop and implement the regional marketing plan. This is including but not limited to:
    • Developing regional sales tools such as marketing presentations, printed/digital collateral and brand campaigns
    • Implementing marketing support plans for each key categories e.g. Public Sector, Motors, Retail, Property

  • Assisting the Regional Marketing and Business Development Manager with the introduction and management of a CRM system (Sales Force / Pardot);
    • Project management, approvals management and campaign measurement
    • Executing CRM-marketing automation focused plans for each region
    • Writing copy for e-marketing/database activity
    • Purchasing data for sales leads and pull data into Exterion systems

  • Taking a proactive stance on researching and sharing OOH/Media/Marketing news, opportunities and activity - ensuring marketing plans are evolved where necessary to take account of the opportunities and issues, including:
    • “Best of” industry examples
    • Competitor activity
    • Interesting OOH/media/digital activity across the industries
    • Biggest spenders, trends, news stories and events

  • Further ad-hoc marketing support as the business requires

Personal Characteristics 

  • Analytical: provides information and presents it in an insightful way which leads to real business benefits

  • Communication/report writing: excellent written and verbal skills. Structured approach to communicating complex messages in accessible ways

  • Project Management: applies the principles and techniques of project planning to manage multiple projects and work streams. Able to work effectively without reliance upon hierarchical management structures

  • Influencing: uses a variety of styles to build relationships of openness and trust at all levels. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial approach: self-motivated and results-focused with a passion for research and analysis. Has a general business understanding outside own skill area of issues in the wider environment


  • Experience in a commercial marketing role, preferably B2B

  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of CRM and marketing automation

  • Previous commercial use of Pardot, or any other marketing automation software highly desired


  • Education to degree level and a relevant qualification preferred

  • Fluent in English – verbal & written
