"I am very humbled to be included on the bus. It’s a great honour to play for your province and country and now I can add this to the list. Thank you to everyone that voted for me, I know my kids are really excited about it. I’m in South Africa now and after a few weeks off for some R&R I’ll be back in pre-season training, and in an Ulster jersey. I’ll have to take it to Kingspan."

The pair were shortlisted with boxing champion Carl Frampton, Olympian Mary Peters, Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill and broadcaster and journalist Eamonn Holmes.

The shortlist was compiled following a call to the public to nominate those they felt were an inspiration and ambassador for Belfast.

An independent judging panel selected the shortlist ahead of the public vote.

Voting closed on May 12 and on Monday 6th June the bus was unveiled.
