Exterion Media - CSR - Everyone's Environment

We are determined to play a part in shaping a better built environment for future generations. We continue to improve the environmental management of our own operations and use our expertise to enhance asset efficiency, programme performance and whole life value for our clients, to support them in their environmental achievements.

Carbon Emissions

Exterion Media are committed to and have a proven track record in reducing our carbon emissions. In 2017 we retained The Planet Mark™ (TPM) sustainability certificate after achieving an 11% cut in our total carbon emissions – an ‘outstanding result’ according to The Planet Mark™ assessors.

Zero waste to landfill

Throughout 2017 we continued to work with our external partners and employees on the waste segregation programme we introduced in 2015. This resulted in us maintaining the zero waste to landfill position we achieved in 2015.

Green Vinyl (non-PVC)

Exterion Media teamed up with our print partners and global vinyl suppliers to develop a non-PVC vinyl that is fully recyclable. Together we have successfully designed, developed and introduced PE vinyl, a green vinyl, which is degradable and recyclable, taking us another step closer to finding a longer-term solution for our energy recovery waste. PE vinyl was introduced in 2017 and is now being used across our estates including the TfL London Underground contract.

Camden Climate Change Alliance

Exterion Media have been members of the Camden Climate Change Alliance (CCCA ) since 2012. In 2017 we were retained The Going Green mark of Achievement and the Cutting Carbon - Mark of Achievement accreditation which we were first awarded in 2014.

SKA Gold

This project aimed to develop a modern office for Exterion Media’s head office population (consisting of around 300 people) which minimised pollution and the usage of energy, water and materials, as well as promoting occupant health and well-being. The independent auditor assessed the fit-out against the RICS Ska Rating and awarded an overall rating of Gold with 17 gold gateways achieved, 13 is the minimum required for a Gold award.

The Green Organisation - The Green Apple Award

In August 2017, Exterion Media won a Green Apple Environment Award for the sustainable outfitting of our new offices at Lacon House. We were also the only company in our industry sector to be awarded a 2017 Green Apple Award. The Green Apple Awards are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
