Our People - Skill Development, Employability, Diversity, Ethics and Integrity

Exterion Media - CSR - Our People

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We provide opportunities for our people to learn anddevelop throughout their careers, so they can reach their potential. We promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, and strive to create a healthy and safe work environment that supports our people’s
wellbeing.

We believe in operating with integrity, both in our business decision making and the conduct of our employees. We have a framework of policies and procedures in place, including our ethical code, addressing bribery and corruption, human rights and information security, as well as our HR policies, which collectively set out how we do business. We also expect our suppliers to meet similar standards.

London Living Wage

We have chosen to pay the London Living Wage to all our Employees, across the UK, not just in London. The Living Wage Foundation publishes the Living Wage fi gure: an hourly rate, set independently every year and updated annually. It is calculated according to cost of living and gives the guided minimum pay rate required for a worker 25 years old + (taking into account what they should receive to provide their family with the essentials of life). We actually pay this as a minimum whatever your age, wherever you work in the UK and it’s something we’re really happy about.

enei (Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion)

We are proud to be Foundation members of the enei. They are the UK’s leading employer network promoting equality and inclusion in the workplace. Their role is to infl uence government, business and trade unions, campaigning for real practical change. We have commissioned enei to deliver Unconscious Bias training that we will roll out across the entire business in 2018. They continually innovate and advise us on inclusive policies and process.

Mental Health

“Our industry has proved itself resilient in tough times. Our employees are just as hardy, but we have to give them the right tools and support. The courses from Mental Health First Aid England have helped immensely.” - Jason Cotterrell, Managing Director, Exterion Media To reinforce the importance of workplace wellbeing at Exterion Media, in 2017 we earmarked on a ‘year of focus’ on mental health, meaning that workplace wellbeing initiatives, events and training were given top priority. The roll-out of mental health fi rst aid (MHFA) courses for staff in branches in London and Manchester are a central part of this focus. Our aim is to have 100% of interested employees trained on MHFA by 2018 and for the training programme to form part of our employee’s regular development.
