Exterion Media appoints Tony Ramirez as Local Sales Director to grow SME reach and revenue

Exterion Media, Europe’s largest privately held Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising business, has promoted Tony Ramirez to the position of Local Sales Director. In the role, Tony is now responsible for managing the Exterion Media Local team, which largely looks after SMEs, and is a division of the wider EM Solutions commercial function. He has been tasked with taking EM Local to the next level, accelerating Exterion’s commitment to SMEs and local businesses across the UK. 

Tony’s appointment is the latest in a series of high level appointments aimed at restructuring Exterion Media’s UK business in response to the evolving media landscape. As part of the restructure the new role will give Tony a seat on the company’s commercial board alongside the heads of other departments, giving the Local team, and its SME clients, a stronger voice within the wider business. 



As OOH revenue continues to grow at a faster rate than other traditional media, bolstered by the growth of digital, smaller businesses are increasingly able to access more opportunities to reach their target audiences at affordable prices. Under Tony’s leadership, EM Local will seek to drive this democratisation of media, making OOH advertising more accessible for SMEs.

Tony was promoted to the role from his previous position as Exterion Media’s Head of Sales UK Direct, where he has been responsible for building the business’s Local teams across the country. In particular, Tony focussed on expanding the London Local sales team to enable their growth, resulting in an over-performance of their 2011 four-year-forecast by almost 190 per cent. 

Tony has been with Exterion Media for 11 years, starting as Sales Manager Metropolitan North before largely devoting himself to working with the Direct Sales team within London.
