Exterion Media UK appoints Chief Revenue Officer to drive commercial growth

Nigel Clarkson Exterion Media

Exterion Media, Europe’s largest privately-owned out-of-home (OOH) company, has announced the appointment of Nigel Clarkson as UK Chief Revenue Officer. Clarkson will be leading all commercial elements of the business to drive development and transformational growth. His appointment follows that of Andrea Marsh, Exterion Media’s new Digital Transformation Director, who joined the business in January.

Clarkson will drive collaboration across teams and will head up the company’s newly-created Commercial Board, which brings together national and local sales, data, creative solutions and digital. Reporting into Clarkson are: Mark Heather, National Sales Director; Tony Ramirez, Local Sales Director; Mick Ridley, Chief Data Officer; Richard Simkins, Creative Solutions Director; and Andrea Marsh. Clarkson joins on 16th April and will report directly into UK MD Dave King.

Clarkson’s appointment comes as Exterion Media embarks on a £90m digital OOH expansion, and he will also be focused on delivering commercial growth through its classic OOH estate. He has held senior leadership roles at both Clear Channel and Primesight and was Commercial Director and then MD at Weve, when it led the market in mobile media. He left his position as UK MD of Oath at the end of last year.

Andrea Marsh Exterion

Marsh has led digital transformation at Emap, Bauer Media and Factory Media. More recently she has consulted on digital growth initiatives, including Time Inc. At Exterion, she is responsible for transforming and growing the business’s digital capabilities. She works across the Sales, Marketing, Insights and Research teams to plan and deliver digital strategy, including the launch of new digital products, upskilling our teams and playing a key role in Exterion Media’s market-leading data and insights programmes.

Dave King, UK MD Exterion Media, says: “Nigel is passionate about out-of-home, and brings extensive senior-level experience across mobile, digital and out-of-home, which will help shape the future commercial growth of the business. He deeply understands the unique partnership role that we can play alongside both traditional and digital media channels, and how we can capitalise on opportunities in digital, data-driven audience insight and creativity.

“We are also incredibly pleased to have Andrea on board. She is commercially focused and understands what is needed to deliver on our ambitions to grow the OOH market through our full motion digital estate. Bringing with her more than 20 years of pure digital experience, she is already a key member of our senior team.”
